Mission
Our mission at First Baptist is to develop a church that follows Biblical principles in assembling together as a body of believers to exhort and encourage one another while at the same time seeking to share the faith, hope and love in Christ with all who attend and to seek to extend these truths around the world through foreign and home missions programs.

Statement of Faith
DECLARATION OF FAITH

1.   We believe that the Bible is the Word and Revelation of God, and is therefore our only authority in faith and practice.  II Tim. 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19-21.

2.   We believe in one God, eternally existing in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Ex. 20:2, 3; I Cor. 8:6; Matt. 28:19.

3.   We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He is very God by Whom and for Whom all things were created.  John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15, 16.

4.   We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.  Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25.

5.   We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those reaching the age of moral responsibility, they also became sinners in thought, word, and deed.  Rom. 5:12, 19.

6.   We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, a substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who truly believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.  Isa. 53:4, 7; John 3:16; I Peter 2:24.

7.   We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven, and His present work of intercession for us.  Matt. 28:6, 7; Acts 1:9; Heb. 7:25.

8.   We believe in the universality of sin, and that the only cleansing from sin is the blood of Jesus Christ.  Rom. 3:10, 19, 23; Col. 1:14; Heb. 9:12-15.

9.   We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, Who came on the day of Pentecost to convict of sin, to regenerate, and to indwell believers, as well as to administrate in the Church of Jesus Christ.  John 14:16, 17; 16:8-11.

10. We believe in the great commission which our Lord gave to His Church to evangelize the world, and that this evangelization is the great mission of the Church of Jesus Christ today.  Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8.

11. We believe in that blessed hope: the personal, premillenial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  John 14:3; Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4.

12. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting bliss of the saved, and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost.  Dan. 12:2; John 5:28, 29; Luke 16:19-31.

13. We believe that all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of their sins and receive Him as their personal Savior by faith, are born again by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become the children of God.  Acts 20:20; John 1:12; Rom. 10.

14. We believe in Water Baptism by immersion after salvation for every believer.  Acts 8:36-39; John 3:23; Rom. 6:4, 5.
